The symposium will be held in a hybrid format, with all presentations simultaneously interpreted into Russian and English, enabling wider international participation and strengthening professional collaboration.
The symposium will bring together researchers, practitioners, and teacher educators to discuss current challenges and develop practical recommendations aimed at promoting and safeguarding the psychological well-being of future generations.
The symposium theme aligns with UNESCO’s strategic priorities and contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) — “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education.” A particular focus will be placed on advancing the goal of ensuring that, by 2030, all children have access to quality early childhood development, care, and pre-primary education. In this context, children’s psychosocial well-being is recognized as a key indicator of successful early childhood education and care.
Special attention will be given to digital hygiene in early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings, addressing the need to balance the integration of digital technologies with the protection of children’s mental health. This approach supports children’s well-being today while contributing to the development of a sustainable educational ecosystem for future generations.
The symposium will address pressing and complex issues currently shaping the field of early childhood education. The symposium will explore the following key themes:
- the future of well-being in early childhood education and futures thinking;
- children’s transition to school in the context of early childhood development and the exploration of alternative approaches;
- digital addiction: from social media to artificial intelligence;
- the family as a resource: effective models of collaboration between educators and parents to support children’s psychological well-being;
- monitoring psychological well-being: contemporary assessment tools for early childhood development and their integration into everyday educational practice.
The support of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO highlights the importance of the symposium in advancing global educational priorities.
