      UNESCO CHAIR

      UNESCO's aims and principles are being successfully implemented at the Chair. Educational, research and international activities are underway. Seminars, symposiums are being held, educational projects are being implemented. In the course of their activities, the Chair's specialists interact with the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the UNESCO Moscow Office, and Russian and and international UNESCO Chairs.

      The results of the work of the UNESCO Chair on Early Childhood Education and Development are systematically presented at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Early Childhood Care and Education" (ECCE) and published in the journal "Preschool Education Today" (included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission for scientific specialties: 19.00.00 "Psychological Sciences", 13.00.00 "Pedagogical Sciences"; cited in the Russian Science Citation Index).

      UNESCO Chair on Early Childhood Education and Development
      It was established on the basis of the International Pedagogical Academy of Preschool Education (IAPE) in 2019. Today, the Chair is a respected professional platform for communication and the exchange of ideas of well-known scientists and specialists in the field of preschool education worldwide.

        Seminar «How to Navigate the World of Children's Digital Apps»

        Digital devices are becoming an integral part of life from early childhood. For instance, preschoolers spend about 2–3 hours per day in front of screens. Screen time increases with age, reaching up to 8 hours per day by adolescence. Children use digital devices to play, communicate, learn, and engage in creative activities.

        Therefore, completely excluding digital devices from a child's life is not advisable. However, how can we ensure their use is beneficial and does not harm child development? We'll explore this and other questions in this seminar with Alexander N. Veraksa and Daria A. Bukhalenkova.

        International Seminar "Consciousness: Cultural or Natural?"

        World-renowned scientists Nikolay E. Veraksa and Nikolay N. Veresov will discuss the key lines of child development as interpreted by L.S. Vygotsky and their relevance today. The first line is that of natural development, associated with organic growth and maturation; the second is the line of cultural refinement—the formation of new modes of thinking and mastery of cultural tools for behavior.

        The experts will discuss how to determine which line of development a child is following and address the question: Is consciousness cultural or natural?
